Regional Owner of Keller Williams Realty in Northern California, Beverly Steiner recently spoke at the Real Estate Marketing Association in San Ramon, and gave insight on ways to have a successful career that ultimately leads to a fulfilling life.
After 36 years of experience in the real estate industry, Beverly’s learned that team-building and self-care are paramount in achieving long-lasting professional and personal happiness. At the meeting, Beverly named 5 areas that she believes will help Realtors achieve maximum well-being. They were: Business Mentors, Finances, Health, Relationships, and Spirituality. She invited the audience to exam themselves as she asked a few questions about each category.
Business Mentors: Who do you know that can mentor and coach you? Can you leverage yourself so you can “get away” from work and still be productive?
Finances: What is your freedom plan? How can you find a way to fund a lifestyle you want? Do you have a budget?
Health: How much of an investment are you making in your physical health? Are your health goals continuously being put off because of the demands at work? Are you willing to make an investment in yourself and start doing better today?
Relationships: What is the quality of your personal relationships? Do you invest time in them, or do they take the backseat to work and your career?
Spirituality: What do you do to stay centered? How have you learned to balance stress?
According to Beverly, finding mentors is helpful in reaching these 5 goals. Yet, she knows that trying to tackle everything at once can be overwhelming. Her advice– concentrate on the biggest issue first, and once that area is addressed, progressively work on the others. Beverly’s closing remarks disclosed the ultimate goal– helping others. She knows that a balanced and fulfilling life is one dedicated to positively affecting those around you.
“Whatever you learn, go and teach it. It’s how we leave a legacy and how we make a difference that really counts.”
