Adding credence to the saying, “two is better than one,” real estate partners, Linda Kralik and Walter Molz of J. Rockcliff Realtors, have been top producing agents since the team paired together in 1991. With a span of more than 22 years together in business, Linda and Walter have earned top honors, consistently being in the top 3% of agents in Contra Costa County, being deserving recipients of the President’s Club award as well as being distinguished in the Elite Circle.
Linda and Walter credit their success as real estate brokers to their connection with the community. Not only did Linda play Team Tennis representing her community on several tennis leagues, she and her two sons were heavily involved in the Blackhawk Swim Team, allowing her personal contact with the many friends and neighbors who have used her services throughout the years. As an avid golfer, Linda’s husband, Al, made many personal connections with other fellow golfers, contributing to Linda and Walter’s real estate connections. Walter’s many years of real estate area brought many past clients to their team. In addition to past clients, his activities within the community including golf, when he has the time, social events at the club and remaining a long standing member of the local gym have brought many new clients into The Blackhawk Team fold.
As individuals and as team members, Linda and Walter have made lifelong relationships with people in their community. Their trust and respect have earned Linda and Walter a following of clients who have engaged their real estate expertise in the purchase or sale of many homes in the community. In some cases they have represented the same home on more than one occasion whether for a purchase or a sell. “Often we have represented a property more than once,” says Linda, “and have helped our clients move through the different stages of their lives. We are now into the second generation of our clients, by representing their children in home purchases.”
So what makes this team work so well together? Linda and Walter believe they have the perfect formula for a successful partnership. They are close, personal friends and neighbors and have shared the triumphs and challenges that come with working with someone for almost a quarter of a century. They agree that a good sense of humor and not taking themselves too seriously have been the key factors in the success of their team accomplishments.
Linda and Walter have no problem admitting their strengths and giving accolades to their partner. Linda’s expertise in technology, advertising, and making personal connections with their clients is deeply appreciated by Walter, and Linda admires Walter’s wit, sense of humor, and top-notch negotiating skills. “Walter does not take on battles that are not his,” comments Linda. “Clients and other agents appreciate that he is respectful and a problem solver.” “We are a team,” they chime in together, “and we go above and beyond to make our clients part of our team.”
Watching the market over the years, Linda and Walter’s biggest challenge is to educate their clients regarding the price of homes. “There is no crystal ball,” says Linda and Walter, “and we have no control over the prices of homes. There are so many things that are so far outside our reach.” But what Linda and Walter can control is how they manage the properties they are selling. The team familiarizes themselves with the property, making suggestions regarding yard work, painting, staging, and other improvements. Linda creates a detailed market analysis and Walter works with contractors on improvements that will earn top dollar for their clients.
This dynamic team prides themselves in working where they live, holding steadfast to the mantra, “We Eat, Sleep, Live, and Play in the Community we Work.”
When Linda has an opportunity to get away from the Manager for The Blackhawk Chorus and has enjoyed singing with the chorus since it began in 1991. Traveling is another passion of hers, taking advantage of her husband’s and sons’ careers as pilots to take her to places near and far. Walter enjoys the company of his wife, Mary, and spends his extra time tending to his picture-perfect garden, one that has been featured in many home garden tours, and playing with their two Tibetan Terriers, Annie and Emma.
