Having spent most of their lives Danville, Jack and Caroline Schlendorf have formed a strong service- oriented foundation in both their professional and personal lives. With 60 years of collective real estate experience in the San Ramon Valley, the father- daughter pair has become a trusted team with their successful business built on honest, long- term relationships.
Jack, a former engineer, with decades of experience, uses his analytical mind and tenure to effectively advise both first-time buyers and seasoned sellers. Caroline partnered with Jack 15 years ago, bringing her marketing expertise and in depth regional knowledge to the team.
Growing up in Danville, Caroline developed a genuine love for the town’s history and character, which helps her market a home with the big picture in mind.
“We love this valley, and we love sharing it with other people,” she says.
Always looking for a better way to do business, Jack and Caroline take a dynamic marketing approach, utilizing everything from print advertisements and online marketing to tried and true person-to-person communication.
Their successful blend of traditional and contemporary practices indicate why they’ve consistently ranked in the top 2% of Contra Costa realtors since 2008.
Jack and Caroline have earned a track record for their long- term client care and commitment. Never selling a home for the sake of a sale, the team always keeps their clients’ best interest in mind, making repeat and referral business a frequent occurrence.
“Right now we’re working on a home that’ll be the 23rd transaction for the same family,” Caroline notes. “We foster long term relationships with our clients; and you only have that when you take really good care of someone.”
Part of that client care comes with knowing how and when to work through issues. Well- liked by local agents for his problem- solving abilities, Jack helps transactions run smoothly with his wealth of experience.
Caroline also commends her father for his relentless focus and dedication, knowing he rarely takes off his ‘real estate hat’.
“[Jack] doesn’t really have a hobby,” Caroline jokes. “Real estate is his hobby- it’s his passion.”
Yet, the family’s dedication stretches far beyond homes. Jack and his wife, Susanna, raised Caroline and her brother to be a service- oriented family, heavily involved in the Danville community. When she was a little girl, Caroline remembers following her mother’s lead by organizing countless pancake breakfasts, knocking on doors to incorporate Danville, and walking in the city’s parade about 18 times.
“My brother and I had incredible role models. Both my parents taught us great work ethic,” she says. Their community- focused family also has strong ties to the town library, known affectionately as ‘Nana’s library’ for Susanna’s contributions made as President of the Danville Library Foundation.
Caroline, a voracious reader and first-edition book collector, raised her 3 sons, Christopher, Andrew and Cameron as avid readers, allowing them to hold their own at any dinner party. She is proud of the amazing young men they have become, all passionate about their communities, interests and learning. Whether they’re helping out at a local Rakestraw Books’ event, or advising a client on a property, Jack and Caroline understand the importance of serving the commun
When they do catch some free time, Jack enjoys tending to his lush garden or cooking for his family. He also enjoys his trips to visit his son and daughter-in-law John and Julie who live in Lake Oswego and time with their children Jane and Jack. Caroline, also a passionate cook and gardener, enjoys hosting dinner parties with her fiancé Mark Winston, or curling up with a good book.
