Jim Walberg and his wife, Ann Marie Nugent, of The Bay Area Team are connecting extraordinary
lives with extraordinary properties since their recent affiliation with Pacific Union, Christie’s
International Real Estate, and their own international real estate practice. Their personal connections to over 20 international brokerages demonstrates their influence is global, transcending the Bay Area and reaching international markets from Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean.
Jim and Ann Marie’s knowledge of Bay Area real estate spans over 30 years, with an active focus
on Danville, their hometown since 1973. Jim’s passion for risk and exploration combined with Ann Marie’s understanding of various cultures and languages allows them to successfully serve the real estate needs of their local and global clients.

Jim attended California State University, Long Beach and began practicing real estate in 1979 in addition to designing and building homes in the East Bay. Since then, he has served in many real estate capacities including branch leader and managing partner for various brokerages.
Ann Marie attended the University of Colorado and speaks fluent French. She lived in Geneva, Switzerland and Toronto, Canada before settling in California. In 1997, she began practicing real estate at the Prudential California Realty Danville office where she was soon rewarded the title, Rookie of The Year. Ann Marie’s business continued to excel, and in 2005 she and Jim decided to combine their real estate practices, forming the local and global company, The Bay Area Team.
The decision to form The Bay Area Team has resulted in many accolades for Jim and Ann Marie. Clients from all over are pleased with the exposure their properties receive due to the extraordinary local and international marketing efforts of The Bay Area Team. The London Financial Times recognizes Jim as an authority in global real estate and has interviewed him for insight on the housing industry. He has also been the featured presenter on the topic of how to market properties internationally at numerous global real estate conferences from Paris, France to San Francisco.

Jim and Ann Marie have represented customers from over 62 countries and are currently representing 14 international real estate clientele as well as a number of Bay Area clients. As top agents, The Bay Area Team has received numerous awards and acknowledgements, including but not limited to: Top Global Networking Award and Top Social Media Award from Who’s Who In Luxury Real Estate; the James Wray, Jr. Memorial International Marketing Award from The International Real Estate Federation based in Paris, France; a 2013 Five Star Real Estate Agent award; Realtor’s Marketing Association’s Hall Of Fame and Realtor of the Year.
In addition to their success as real estate agents, Jim and Ann Marie are very proud parents of five children, all of whom have college degrees, enjoy fulfilling careers and are pursuing their
personal dreams. The Bay Area Team has enjoyed substantial professional and personal success. Yet, the most fulfilling aspect of their practice is the relationships they have made over the years with
their clients and fellow colleagues. Both Jim and Ann Marie are grateful for those relationships,
which is why their daily commitment is to “always do the right thing.”
Part of doing the right thing is giving back to their community and staying locally connected,
which they do through The Support of the Food Bank, One Warm Coat, and SonRise Equestrian
Foundation among others. Jim explains, “We are in the relationship business…assisting with
the needs of our clients and discovering needs within our community; …addressing them is part
of our personal and professional DNA.”
