“This is part of series of book art projects that are designed to make the shop a more interesting place,” says Ruth Thornburg, President of the Friends of the Lafayette Library and Learning Center (“Friends”).
Friends volunteers operate and staff this popular used book store that draws book lovers from all over the San Francisco Bay Area. So many people buying so many books that, in the fiscal year that ended 6/30/13, this volunteer staffed book shop selling donated books at $1-2 each helped the Friends earn $135,000 to support Library programs.
