As a third generation Lafayette resident, Erin Martin not only knows the ins and outs of the Lamorinda area, but also has a contagious love for it. “Lafayette is this special place where there are so many generations of families, and new buyers are completely embraced by the community,” says Erin. That passion and insider knowledge is undoubtedly helpful when serving Moraga, Orinda, and Lafayette. Yet, it’s Erin’s heartfelt, personal approach that truly connects her with clientele.“I’m very patient and really hear what people want and need, making sure all those things come together,” she says. Over the past 8 years Erin has gained invaluable experience through buying and selling rental properties, learning firsthand what constitutes a worthy investment.
Before becoming a Realtor, Erin held a private practice as a family therapist, and was previously a family therapist at UCLA Hospital. After moving back to Lamorinda, and starting her own family her inherent interest in sharing Lamorinda with others led her to real estate, where her patience and communicative abilities blend perfectly with her investment property experience.
“Buying or selling a house is always a big decision, and I think that my sensitivity to that really makes the process easier,” says Erin. “I always try to make it a humanistic process versus just a transaction, because it truly is both.”
When it comes to her listings, Erin’s known for her sincere, full service style. Whether it’s keeping clients informed, seamlessly preparing a property, or taking on miscellaneous details, she knows how to take the stress out of an often difficult or emotional process. Her insider neighborhood knowledge also helps her effectively market Lamorinda listings, knowing what prospective buyers would enjoy about each nook and cranny of the region. “I also understand that this area in general is a beautiful place to live, and a great investment.”
Her infectious love for the community makes her far more than a buyers’ agent, but an honest, expert guide, going well beyond the standard tour of town. “I really enjoy educating clients on each neighborhood. If they’re interested in a particular community, school or area, I introduce them to people who live on that street, so they can get first hand knowledge about what it’s like living on Moraga Blvd or Springhill Rd,” says Erin.
Her aid doesn’t end there. Well after the transaction Erin helps buyers smoothly transition into town. Whether she’s introducing them to members of the local swim club, or connecting buyers to friends who have children in the same age range, Erin truly goes above and beyond.
“I feel like that’s one of my special talents – making sure my clients feel welcome and love Lafayette as much as I do.”
An active community member, Erin volunteers at the Spring Hill Elementary’s library, and participates in fundraising and charitable activities through the Lafayette Juniors. When she’s not helping clients or the community, Erin enjoys spending quality time with her husband, 6-year old twins, and her 10-year-old daughter. A Tahoe-loving family, Erin unwinds by retreating to the snow, where her kids are active members of the Northstar Ski team.
She also feels fortunate enough to watch her children benefit from many of the same activities she enjoyed as a child, such as LMYA Soccer, Girl Scouts, and riding bikes along the Lafayette Trail. “I can walk to my parents’ house from my home…So, one of our favorite things to do is take the bike trail to the park, and stop at grandma’s house for a water break. We love doing that,” says Erin. Whether she’s enjoying the outdoors with her family, or guiding clients through town, Erin enjoys living and working in the beautiful area she feels lucky enough to call home.
