Jou Jou Chawla: Making a Great Investment for My Clients

These days, communication channels are fragmented. There is no “magic bullet” that will reach all potential buyers and sellers. You have to reach different prospects through different channels.

Direct mail marketing, social media, blogging, search engine optimization…I have to use them all in order to communicate effectively with my community as a Realtor.

It takes a multi-channel, multi-media approach to marketing and communication in order to provide my clients with the service they deserve.

Even though many buyers start their home search online, many are either unclear about what they want or need in a home. Very often, buyers end up purchasing a home that is different from what they initially set out to buy based on their initial criteria.

In other words, even though a home I have listed for sale may be perfect for some specific buyer, there’s no guarantee it’s actually appearing in their search results.

That’s why I take a more proactive, direct and multi-media approach to my marketing.
I’m being hired to introduce my clients’ homes to as many prospective buyers as possible and I’m going to use every tool at my disposal to do that.

Joujou was born in New Delhi and was educated at Tara Hall, a Catholic boarding school in Simla, the summer capital of India. After completing her undergraduate degree in Economics from New Delhi University, she was then introduced to her future husband to be, Piri Chawla, in the traditional "match-making" custom and became engaged to him within 14 hours.

In 1980, she joined her husband in the United States and after living in New York and Texas for a few years, they moved to California in 1985 and settled in Blackhawk. She started selling real estate in Dallas, Texas in 1982, and started working for Blackhawk Properties/Blackhawk Realty in 1985 where her dedication and hard work set the tone for what would set her apart from all other agents. She practiced real estate with Blackhawk Properties/Blackhawk Realty from 1985 to 1991. In 1991 she obtained her brokerage license and became a co-owner of the company which was then renamed Blackhawk Real Estate Company. As a co-owner, her company began to do sales volume which is typically done by companies 10 times their size in the Bay Area of San Francisco. In this capacity, she also functioned as the CFO of the organization for nearly 10 years. In 2008, her company merged with J. Rockcliff to become one of the most powerful companies in the Bay Area’s real estate market. With the two combined companies, the market share they control is unmatched.

Her practice covers Piedmont, Orinda, Lafayette, Moraga, Walnut Creek, Alamo, Danville, Blackhawk, San Ramon, Dublin, Pleasanton and Livermore areas. Also, Joujou’s marketing is unmatched. Every month Joujou covers numerous pages of Home Folio and Homes & Land magazines with her advertisements of properties that she has just listed, sold, or are expected to be coming soon. She covers the internet with her listings and helpful advice so that the public will easily be able to access the information they might need. Publicly she is known as the “Go To” person for listing properties and getting the desired results. The results are mostly delivered because of her enthusiasm and professionalism. Her eye for detail ensures that none of her properties will be overlooked.
