Tech guru Nate Ellis from the Contra Costa Association of Realtors (CCAR) recently spoke at “APP’y Hour” hosted by The Women’s Council of Realtors Contra Costa County (WCRCC). The event included hosted appetizers, drinks, a raffle, and took place at the Faz restaurant in Danville from 4:30- 7:00pm.
Nate discussed the best new mobile apps for real estate professionals and how they could enhance daily business practices. Below are a list of the mentioned apps.
EVERNOTE:
An app used to facilitate and complete day to day tasks. It allows you to remember things across all devices and can leverage standard applications.
Evernote Hello– With this app you can take photos of business cards and enter them into phone contacts.
*IOS app only* Under the IOS app you can choose to separate business cards from main contacts or create separate groups.
Evernote Webclipper– Allows you to save an entire webpage and not just the URL. This makes things more searchable and retrievable.
SKITCH:
Gives you the ability to draw on-top of pictures and photos. You can add captions, draw maps, insert arrows, etc.
GOOMZEE: (IOS only)
A new and improved mobile MLS. You can maintain and upload listings, change or adjust listing prices, etc.
HOMESTYLER:
Virtually stage or remodel a home with this 3D app. Simply take a picture and you can add furniture or change paint colors to your hearts content! Also does floor plans.
PHOTON FLASH BROWSER:
A flash enabled web browser
SLIDESHARK: (IOS app only)
Great presentation software. Do voiceovers as you transition between slides, etc. Creates a Powerpoint deck and allows you to set timing.
ZITE:
As you use this app, it recognizes your interests, and automatically searches the internet to find content similar to it. It helps find relevant data and the more you use it, the better. Comes with a magazine style interface.
FEEDLY:
A good replacement for Google’s discontinued RSS feed.
Keeps information private between 2 people. A private message network
INSTAGRAM:
The Facebook of picture sharing. Share information through pictures instead of comments.
SNAPIT:
Photoshop in 2 clicks. Click photo a few times and it improves the picture.
VIDEOLICIOUS:
A formatted video editor with voice-overs and slideshows.
FLAME BLAST: (IOS App only)
This is like Adobe Editing Software on a phone. You can add Instagram type filters over videos. Allows you to handle videos up to 1 hour in length.
VINE:
A video app limited to 6 seconds.
DELECTABLE WINE:
Take pictures of wine labels and rate them. You can also order wine on this website.
