Spring is here– flowers are blooming, trees are flourishing and the cheerful songs of singing birds adds joy to the sunny days. But what excites me more than the beautiful weather, is the current market condition. Never has it been a better time to list your home!
So, why is it a seller’s market? For starters, inventory is low in the San Franciso Bay Area and homes that are listed often encounter multiple offer situations. This gives seller’s MORE options to choose from–meaning they are more likely to end up with the perfect deal! These multiple offer situations also give sellers the upper hand– and who doesn’t want that when doing a business transaction?
A few notes to Buyers:
Despite the fact that it is a seller’s market, mortgage interest rates are still at historic lows and are sure to go up with time. My advice, the sooner a buyer can find a home– the better chance they have of securing a mortgage payment that is low and manageable. If a buyer waits too long- the rates are likely to increase, resulting in a higher mortgage. So now is the best time for potential buyers to start exploring the market.
