SPICY RIO GRANDE BBQ SAUCE
The Summer months in Contra Costa County are always filled with fun activities, family functions and outdoor events. Between street fairs, local parades, outdoor concerts, and weekend parties, there is never a shortage of things to do. One of my favorite pastimes is relaxing at a BBQ with family and friends, and when it comes time to grill some fresh meat, there is nothing like that “special sauce!”
I have a BBQ sauce recipe I love to use whenever I grill or BBQ. This spicy sauce is sure to tantalize your taste buds, and has a nice kick that leaves a satisfying impression! Want to turn your next BBQ picnic into a full-blown culinary experience? Be sure to use this recipe and enjoy the bliss of a “party in your mouth.”

1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon Frank’s RedHot Original Cayenne Pepper Sauce
1/2 teaspoon table salt
1 (4-oz) can green chiles, mild
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1 (15-oz) can tomato sauce
Instructions
Heat butter in a medium saucepan. Add onions and garlic; sauté until onions soften, 3 to 4 minutes. Stir in next 7 ingredients; cook over medium heat to blend
flavors, about 5 minutes. Add vinegar and tomato sauce; bring to simmer. Simmer uncovered until sauce thickens slightly, about 15 minutes. Serve!
