As a young man growing up, Ron received some sage advice from his father. He said, “If something is worth doing, it’s worth doing well.”Ron has carried that advise with him throughout his life and has applied it to everything he has done, professionally and personally. No doubt, his passion for a job well done andperformance have been key to his success as a businessman, a father and a husband. It’s something he expects from himself, and the people he surrounds himself with, so it’s no surprise that Ron and his wife, Susan, are one of the most productive and successful Realtor teams in Lafayette and Lamorinda.
Ron began his career in real estate 13 years ago after a 20+ year career with AT&T. When Ron decided to leave AT&T, he was at the top of his game. At the time, he was Vice President of Sales Operations for AT&T’s Business Markets – Western US Region and had just learned he had been picked to run a newly acquired company. It was an incredible opportunity. The kind of opportunity most corporate executives only dream about, but it involved relocating to the East Coast. With two sons at formative ages attending Lafayette schools, Susan well-established in her real estate career, and myriad of friends, Ron decided it was time to leave the corporate world, and devote more time to his family within the community that he loves.
Ron’s experience with early tech pioneer, AT&T, has served him well. He’s always had a passion for technology and marketing. He is in an elite class of Realtors who genuinely understand how to integrate and apply both in the marketing of high-end real estate. He’s an avid blogger and truly understands how new developments in technology can benefi t his clients. He doesn’t limit himself to just real estate specific tech tools either, but looks to industries outside of real estate for tools and strategies that he can apply to his business.
Ron’s interest in tech has rubbed off on his sons too. His oldest son, Brian, is currently working on his 3rd startup company. He runs EventBrite’s (www.eventbrite.com) worldwide growth initiatives. His youngest, Jeffrey, studied at Santa Clara and currently heads up Apple’s business sales team in San Francisco. It’s obvious when speaking with Ron that he’s very proud of his sons, but if you ask him to list his proudest achievements, he will tell you without hesitation that it is his 30+ year marriage to Susan, raising two fine sons, and professionally, the maintaining of uncompromising standards for integrity and performance.
For Ron, beyond all the technology and marketing strategies, integrity is everything. He prides himself on providing his clients with honest advise regardless of circumstances and placing people before commissions. Ron’s principles attract clients, and he attracts a lot of them, who value performance, professionalism and thoroughness. His clients are eager to refer Ron to their friends and family which is the ultimate endorsement.
When Ron is not working, he enjoys photography, golf, cycling and travel. Ron has had the opportunity to study photography with some true legends. At 16, he studied with Ansel Adams, and more recently with celebrity photog Greg Gorman. So, even with his hobbies worth doing, he does them well.
