For Jim and Jimmy Nappo reliability and availability are the cornerstones of life. Whether it’s being there for clients or making time for family, the father-son team knows the value of honest, healthy relationships.
“The most satisfying comment we get is that we’re always available. People who have had prior real estate experience sometimes complain that they can’t reach their agent. They don’t always know what’s going on. We’re constantly focused on responding to every phone call, text, or email promptly and I think people value that,” Jim says.
Based on Jim’s 25 years of real estate expertise, the team comes with the kind of wisdom that only derives from experience. The 40-year mid-peninsula resident entered the industry in 1989 after 30 years in computer system sales. His tenure in the real estate community has given him first-hand experience of multiple markets. Since his second year in the business Jim has been a consistent top producer, ranking in the Presidents Club year after year.
Much like his father, Jimmy had a natural knack for sales. After earning his marketing degree Jimmy consistently landed in the top 1%, while selling for local distribution and high tech companies. Since joining forces 12 years ago the father and son have become a reputable team, representing a wide range of clientele in Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, and its surrounding areas.
“We both have been salespeople our whole lives…I think the wisdom, the experience, dad’s civil engineering background, and my marketing education offer a nice blend,” says Jimmy.
Yet, their background is just the foundation of their ongoing success. The pair has a range of advertising strategies in place, helping sellers reach a diverse pool of buyers from Silicon Valley to Russia, China, and India. Both are also firm believers in representing their clients without any aid from assistants, ensuring both sellers and prospective buyers receive clear, quality responses whenever needed.
“We focus our attention on being available. When we have new listings one of us is always at the Realtor open house, while other agents have their assistants there. We realize the negotiation actually begins at that first meeting and we’re there to do that,” says Jim.
The team also excels in project management. With years of experience both Jim and Jimmy know how critical proper presentation is.
“Some properties have a major project management issue that needs to be handled and that’s where we thrive. We don’t necessarily recommend that people remodel, but we’ll get a house looking from ‘you don’t want to go into to it’ to ‘maybe I don’t want to sell my house.’ It looks that good afterwards. That’s our sweet spot,” says Jimmy.
When they’re not prepping properties and negotiating sales the two spend plenty of quality time with their families. Jim and his wife Barbara have been married for over 50 years. They are the proud parents of Chris, Angela, Melissa, and Jimmy, and also have 11 grandchildren all of whom live in the Bay Area.
Jimmy has been married to his wife Jenny for 13 years and has two girls, Courtenay and Taylor, both of whom attend Huff Elementary School in Mountain View. While the pair loves to travel and expose their families to new places, they vow to never vacation simultaneously, ensuring both their loved ones and clients have their full attention when it matters most.
