While John and Candi Hoyle have built a strong, referral-based business over the past 30 years, they rarely define success by quantitative figures. For this Danville team, it’s all about client satisfaction.
“The only thing we care about is whether our clients are truly happy with what we do.” says John, “That’s success for us.”
Happily married for 45 years and real estate partners for nearly two decades, the Hoyles come with a sound consultative approach, and two refreshingly honest and down to earth personalities.
Having raised their children in Danville’s Sycamore community, the pair harbors an intimate, historical knowledge of the area, helping sellers effectively market a home with buyers’ desires in mind.
John and Candi have also dealt with their fair share of home transactions, making 10 corporate moves throughout the U.S. before settling down in Danville 30 years ago.
This first-hand, relocation knowledge gives the Hoyles a unique, empathetic perspective for families in transition.
“We know what a challenge it is to go to a new place where you don’t know anyone…You’re dealing with people you’ve just met and talking about one of the largest financial decisions you’ll make,” says John.
“We’ve been through it. So, if our clients are selling their home or moving to the area we know what they’re going through.”
As a result of this relocation experience, the pair has rooted their business in sincere communication, developing trusting, long-term relationships that focus on full disclosure and honest advice.
“There’s one word I think of all the time in life and that’s integrity. [People] feel it, they see it, they hear it, and they know it when they meet with me,” says Candi. “They can trust me without a doubt. That’s something I strive for.”
A natural people person with 30 years of real estate experience, Candi is known for genuinely hearing out her clients. She focuses on understanding the family’s personality, values and lifestyle to ensure her advice best reflects their short and long-term goals.
“It’s about spending time with each client and really being able to hear what they’re saying,” Candi says.
A naturally in sync team, John shares Candi’s client-centric beliefs and offers nearly 20 years real estate experience on top of his 16 years in corporate marketing and sales.
“We’ve never looked at ourselves as sales associates, but rather consultants, telling people the positive and negatives of each transaction,” says John. “I tell our clients everything about a deal. Because of that I can look at myself in the mirror and know I gave them good advice.”
This philosophy had led the pair to a referral rate well over 90% with long-standing business relationships. They’ve even had the pleasure of selling homes to their clients’ children- kids who once crawled around the office during the family’s first transaction.
When they’re not prepping listings or hunting for homes, the Hoyles enjoy traveling, volunteering with their church, and spending visiting their family. John and Candi are also proud parents of two grown children and a son-in-law: JT, a paramedic who was recently honored with the California’s Star of Life Award for saving a toddler’s life; Tracy, a 16- year Kindergarten teacher; and her husband Dave, an advanced English high school teacher. The couple also has two grandchildren, Hannah and Jacob.
“We’re just so proud that our children are in service-oriented careers,” says Candi. “They turned out very much like their father and mother in that they love to serve the community through their own gifts. That’s just so heart-warming for John and I.”
