The Realtor to Trust | Matt Skrabo
As a third generation Realtor, I believe integrity is essential. This term is very loosely used in real estate, but I think integrity is measured by your reputation — what people say about you when you leave the room. Character and integrity are one in the same, which is why I always try and do the right thing. If I don’t feel that it’s right to do something, I stand up for myself. I don’t just stay quiet and let the matter pass by — I speak up about my convictions. This is one of many ways I build valuable business relationships that are based on trust.
Trusted By the Community & Recognized by Peers
For the last two years, I have been voted the #1 Best Realtor for 2014 and 2015. This is based on community votes, and who homebuyers and home sellers have determined to be the most trusted, professional and proficient Realtors around. Being chosen as number #1 speaks more than the amount of real estate that is sold in volume; it’s also about ethics, personality, continuity and consistency in your marketing — how you position and conduct yourself. It was both humbling and flattering to be chosen as the #1 Best Realtor by the very people I love to serve and assist. I am also in the Hall of Fame at Keller Williams in Palo Alto, which recognizes my high amount of sales volume and ranks me as a top producer in the area.
Finding the Right Fit
I take a different approach when it’s time to work with homebuyers and sellers in the Silicon Valley. In this business, it’s so feast or famine, that real estate agents often focus on getting the next deal and feel compelled to take whatever opportunity comes their way. I actually take a lot of pride in screening out my clients and being very honest with them. Whether I go on a listing appointment or am handling a buyer’s lead, I like to make sure that I am the right fit for them. It’s selfless for me to say “I just don’t think I am the right guy for you or visa versa,” but it’s also ok to come to that conclusion. I am a firm believer that when you let something go, then another great thing comes along, and that’s always been true for my business.
I’ve been very thankful to work for clients that are likeminded. I really value quality over quantity and likemindedness. These aspects are extremely important in any sales job.
